The focus of this review is the science of sensory development and stimulation in neonates and infants,
especially the importance of multisensory stimulation. The primary senses discussed are touch, hearing, vision, balance, and smell. This review is intended as an educational resource for primary healthcare professionals involved in neonatal and infant care development.
