Dr James McGarvey

Dr McGarvey is a sport and exercise medicine physician who has been Team Doctor for a number of sports teams, including the Chiefs for their two super rugby winning seasons and more recently the  Blues. He was the tournament physician for the Heineken® Open tennis tournament for 5 years. He previously ran the Auckland University postgraduate diploma in sports medicine and is a sports medicine reviewer for the British Medical Journal. He is currently working as a Sports Physician at Axis Sports Medicine in Auckland, and is the team doctor for the All Blacks.
